Organize shared expenses and transfer payments in one simple app
The concept:
To merge between a payment transfer app to an expense sharing app
The main needs that emerged from the user research:
1. The users feel discomfort reminding friends about an existing debt
2. A distinction must be made between two sort of expenses:
Expenses for which there is clarity regarding: the amount of the expense, the number of participants and each person’s share
Expenses for which it is not yet clear who will participate, in what amount or perhaps the number of participants will affect the amount of the expense
The problems taken into account in the characterization process:
The user may feel a loss of control and lack of understanding of the final calculation in the face of multiple shared expenses with the same person, in different groups and cumulative events
Adding shared expenses without any restriction can result in users never getting paid but rather adding more and more shared expenses. This may cause a more frequent need of users to remind contacts about existing debts and feel uncomfortable when they try to settle any open debts.
When there is no payment deadline there are fewer operations of transfers in the application and less business profit from using the interface
The solutions:
“Expenses sharing group” –
in which payments made are entered and distributed among the participants
“Collecting group” –
in which it is possible to invite a person to take part in the event by offering him to participate in optional predetermined amounts or an amount of his choice
The possibility to add shared expenses will be limited to up to 8 events for each contact. Event can be added up to 3 months after the date of the first event (whichever is earlier)
The app will then send many reminders to settle up and allow the users to send only immediate payment requests
In addition to the history of events in groups, there is a history page for each contact with whom I have unsettled debts. This is in order to summarize the joint activity of all the groups in a clear and transparent way.
